His versatility and keen interest in these areas have led him to be involved in a number of cross-border disputes, shareholder remedies and insolvency proceedings under both the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and the Companies&#8217; Creditors Arrangement Act. 
A graduate of McGill University with degrees in civil law and common law, he also completed a Master of Laws in international arbitration and litigation at New York University. While in law school, Laurent worked as a research assistant in the areas of commercial law, arbitration and private international law, participated in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot and worked as a senior editor for the McGill Law Journal.
