Biography
Alexandre Furino is a Partner at the firm, with a diversified practice, revolving around civil and commercial litigation, as well as arbitration. He leads, amongst others, large-scale professional and D&O liability cases, contractual disputes, competition and construction litigation matters. Alexandre advises and represents our clients in complex and sensitive business matters, as well as in injunction cases, both as counsel for plaintiffs and defendants. As a litigator, he has defended their interests before all levels of Quebec courts and before several arbitration and administrative tribunals.

Successfully obtained the dismissal, in first instance and on appeal, of an action in warranty and the related principal action, launched against our firm’s clients, Développement Rescom and its administrator, real estate developers.
Syndicat demandeur dans Syndicat des copropriétaires de Vue phase I et II v. Développement Vue phase I inc., 2020 QCCS 2148
Successfully obtained a precedent-setting award for damages of approximately $3,000,000, to resolve defects affecting the building, and compensate other damages for the Syndicate and for 126 co-owners personally, plus legal fees, legal interest and additional indemnity.

Successfully obtained a precedent-setting judgment for a declaration of nullity and a damage award in relation to decisions taken by two syndicates of co-ownership in a multi-phase project, for the benefit of our clients, developers for the project.
Kougemitros v. Investissement St-Rémi, 2022 QCCS 1028
Successfully obtained three declarations of abuse, the quashing of a seizure before judgment and the dismissal of the whole claim on presentation of a Motion to dismiss, in relation to a lawsuit instituted against our client Investissement St-Rémi by one of its partners.
Bell Canada v. Vidéotron S.E.N.C., C.S.M: 500-17-087821-156
Successfully defended a Motion for a provisional interlocutory injunction presented by Bell Canada to force Vidéotron to cease the broadcast of advertisements that were namely aired during the 2015 National Hockey League playoffs.
